Jr. DRFF Submission Guidelines
The Junior Deaf Rochester Film Festival (Jr. DRFF), part of the Deaf Rochester Film Festival 2020, will have a large showcase event on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Please read the guidelines below before filling out your submission. We look forward to seeing your fantastic work!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
The deadline for submissions is extended to February 28, 2020.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing students attending middle school (junior level) or high school level are encouraged to enter the Jr. DRFF competition! Winning filmmakers will receive special recognition & awards!
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS: students attending intermediate school, junior high school, or lower secondary school, and students attending secondary school, lower secondary education or upper secondary education, are encouraged to participate!
All genres of films, running 5 minutes or less, will be accepted for consideration.
All genres are accepted for possible consideration, including experimental, animation, documentary, narrative, and student films. Captions (and English subtitles, in the case of foreign - language films) are strongly encouraged. Please complete the entry form for each film submitted.
Films considered for possible inclusion in DRFF 2020 must be completed between 2017 and 2020; OR the film has never been screened at any film festival / event in the United States.
Additionally, your film(s) must meet one or more of the following eligibility criteria:

The film is made by a Deaf or Hard of Hearing filmmaker,
AND/OR

The film is made by a hearing filmmaker with a Deaf or Hard of Hearing executive director,
AND/OR

The film must feature at least one deaf character,
AND/OR
-
The film is about the Deaf experience.
PRESCREENING RULES:
Your entry must include video link (can be YouTube, Vimeo) with an access password (if private) for consideration.

PLEASE NOTE: If DRFF 2020 selects your film(s), it is possible that you may have to mail film(s) in DVD format to our film screening committee by March 15, 2020. Region-free DVDs (NTSC) are strongly preferred for DRFF 2020 screening purposes. Entries for DVD formats must be labeled clearly with your name, film title, genre, running time, and year, in that order.
